Chick-fil-A Victoria’s Servant Hearts Community Service Event

Chick-fil-A® Victoria proudly announces the Servant Hearts Community Service organization. This one-of-a-kind organization was established and is managed by Chick-fil-A Victoria high school and college students, who also serve as team members in our restaurants. Their recent community service event was an initiative to celebrate our VISD campus administrators, educators and staff.

The organization volunteers desired to inspire educators, to feel encouraged and supported during this time of uncertainty.  Directors from Chick-fil-A Victoria along with our student volunteers delivered delicious Chick-fil-A Sandwiches and treat bags to fourteen VISD elementary school campuses on Monday, August 24th through Friday, August 28th, 2020.

A couple of the volunteer leaders from the organization shared their experience and are featured here:

“With COVID- 19 in the forefront, this year has presented challenges for each and every individual, and Chick-fil-A Victoria realizes this and has seen the toll it has taken on our beloved community. Therefore, with many challenges all around, there was an initiative taken to help alleviate the area we serve as Chick-fil-A. That is where Cows for the Community was birthed, by a need in the place we all call home. Cows for the Community is a voluntary group made up of Chick-fil-A employees, that volunteer their time and efforts to help the city of Victoria. Fortunately, this group was able to reach out to essential workers through encouraging letters during the pandemic.

However, this month the Cows for the Community took special notice of VISD’s challenges and efforts to overcome learning obstacles, making their first in-person outreach to the faithful teachers of VISD. We all know that it is that time of year again, where teachers are working diligently to make lesson plans and turn a plain classroom into an inspiring haven, all while taking extreme precautions to ensure a safe learning environment. These teachers are putting their best foot forward, choosing to go above and beyond to welcome back students from a very extended spring break.

Their valiant effort as teachers was honored by the Cows for the Community, by having goodie bags and a delicious chicken sandwich delivered to their campuses. It was a true privilege for the Cows for the Community to be able to see a smile on the faces of the teachers and let them know that their efforts are highly esteemed. On behalf of Cows for the Community, we wish you a school year full of new experiences and delightful outcomes”

- Allyson Stafford, President, Chick-fil-A Victoria’s Servant Hearts Community Service Organization

“Cows of Community is an all-volunteer service group made up of majority college and high school students. We are a young ambitious group that is more than willing to serve our community in any way possible. As students, we appreciate our educators and the entire staff it takes to properly educate all of us. Not only do we spend half of our time with educators on a weekly basis, most of the group members, including myself, have a relative that is a teacher, administer or staff in a School district. We value their efforts and their hearts especially during this time of such uncertainty.

With all this in mind, when presented with this amazing opportunity to present these heroes with free Chick-fil-A sandwiches and a goodie bag we were more than ready to serve. There soon after we quickly began assembling bags to hand out with each sandwich. Throughout the week members would trickle into the office to contribute their volunteer time along with writing a letter that would be sent out to the teachers via email. We were all hands-on deck for this project and more than happy to lend our time and hearts to our community heroes.”
